How Safe Report Works

The Process

Report is made - you can keep your report or submit it

Report investigation by organisation

Outcome provided - you can access with your key

There are two types of report

Keeping a report just for yourself

Our memory of events is better shortly after something has happened. Consider making a report - just in case you want it for later.

Letting an organisation know

Submitting a report, even an anonymous report assists an organisation to identify issues in that they have.

How this report works

Focussed on your privacy

Our system collects your report and holds it securely, only ever disclosing the details that you choose to the registered responsible person at the organisation the report is going to.

You can be sure the report gets to that person, without ever identifying yourself to the organisation (unless you want to).

This "third party" approach to reporting assures formality and transparency in the reporting process, accountability of the organisation you're reporting to, trust in the security of the reporting system (because it's My Safe Report's business to provide the most robust kind of service), and complete privacy for you at every step.

The organisations who register for this service are showing a strong and open commitment to addressing the problem you're having.

A Safe Report is not a police report. Please consider if reporting directly to the police may be more appropriate for you.

How the system works

  1. You complete your report
  2. Your report is encrypted and transferred to our secure private Australian servers
  3. Your report is encrypted again once it arrives so the even we can't read it behind the scenes
  4. You remain anonymous during your time on our system; we don't record and keep your IP address, private information, or browsing behaviour like most sites do
  5. You get a secure key displayed on the screen - write it down and keep somewhere safe
  6. In the future if you ever want to get your report back, for legal or other reasons your secure key will allow you to retrieve it along with proof of when it was reported.
  1. You complete your report and nominate an organisation and individual in the organisation to receive the anonymous report
  2. Your report is encrypted and transferred to our secure private Australian servers
  3. Your report is encrypted again once it arrives so the even we can't read it behind the scenes
  4. You remain anonymous during your time on our system; we don't record and keep your IP address, private information, or browsing behaviour like most sites do
  5. The person you nominate gets a secure key to access the report. They need to verify their identity with a code sent to the email you nominate to gain access to your report
  6. After logging in with the key and the code they can view your report with only what you have written
  7. You get a secure key displayed on the screen - write it down and keep somewhere safe
  8. In the future if you ever want to get your report back, for legal or other reasons your secure key will allow you to retrieve it along with proof of when it was reported.
  9. If in the future you ever want to identify yourself to the organisation you can do so with the secure key
  • Because the information in your report is private and you are choosing to report anonymously we have set up the Safe Report system so that your anonymity is assured.
  • If you lose your secure key we cant give you the information back - There is no recovery process to maintain your anonymity - Keep the key somewhere safe
  • Do not keep the name of this site in the same location as the secure key - Would you write your pin number on your credit card?
  • Keep the key even if you think you dont want it - you dont know how you will feel about your experience later.
